The Medicaid Quality Website provides user-friendly, web access to measures related to New Hampshire’s Medicaid program in a pre-tabulated form, reflecting multiple dimensions of population health, health care, and health determinants along with related information about the NH Medicaid Quality Program. This website was developed through funding provided by the grant program outlined under the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance Number 93.609 from the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. However, these contents do not necessarily represent the policy or views of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and you should not assume endorsement by the Federal Government.

The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services Medicaid Quality website is a platform for the Medicaid Quality Information System (MQIS) to manage the submission, storage, evaluation and publishing of information. MQIS provides robust capabilities for the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services Medicaid Quality Program to conduct a wide variety of data analysis, quality program, and activities.

No, the NH Medicaid Quality website data does not contain any individual level data. All data is provided as summary data for the parameters indicated or selected.

Data includes numerous New Hampshire Medicaid Care Management operational, utilization, and clinical quality measures derived from the following measure sets.

Each measure includes items such as detailed metadata, definitions, data sources, and national comparators where applicable and available. Data is provided on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis.DHHS utilizes minimum statistical standards for all measures.and will not publish data that does not meet minimum standards of reliability. Each measure passes a series of automated and manual quality checks before becoming available on this website.   

We continuously make modifications and enhancements, including additional measures, reflecting input from users and stakeholders. We also work to make improvements in the display of tables and chart and implement additional customization as the data allows.

To establish priorities for ongoing changes, we will use a two-stage process for the consideration of new measures and modifications to existing ones, involving a statistical quality review followed by a priority review.  

You can provide input by emailing us at MQISSupport@dhhs.nh.gov. 

• Select Measures A-Z or Measures by Topic menus and click specific measures to display.
• Measure data will appear via pre-generated reports. 

Several options for customizing the measure reports exist. 

• Options to change graph views and table values are available above each chart.
• Submitters vary by measure and include the Managed Care Organizations, the Dental Organization and the Fee for Service Non-Emergent Transportation vendor.
• When multiple breakouts of the data are available, utilize the Customize feature on the report to select breakouts.

• Yes, drill-down is possible to the extent the data allows; given what was originally provided by data submitters. 
• Utilize the Customize feature on each report to see the available options for each measure. 

• To print a report, click Print just above the chart.
• To generate a PDF, click PDF just above the chart.  The link to the PDF download will appear just below the measure name so you may need to scroll up to see it.
• To export the data in .csv, .xls, and .xlsx formats, click Master Export below each chart.
• Options to save the chart image as a .png appear if you hover over the top-right corner of the chart.

Data may not appear for a measure if:

• Data has yet to be submitted for the measure,  
• The data is being validated, questioned or still under review by DHHS, or
• DHHS retired the measure.  

MQIS suppresses the following data:

• Rates when the numerator is less than 20 or the denominator is less than 50.
• Numerators when the numerator is between 1 and 4.

• A maximum of the 24 most recent measurement periods will appear in charts if the data is available.    
• To see older data, adjust date range using the Customize feature on each report, making sure to fill in both the start date and end date.
